So, why a name like Third Born Lefties? "Brevity and levity." We're both left handed, play guitar right-handed, third born, middle children with late June birthdays. The Late June Boomer Third Born Lefties is just way too long! Choosing a band name is a challenge. It needs to be unique, clever, descriptive, easy to remember... --But no matter what, don't you know someone's going to mock it? So, why not just go with Sharon & Dan, or the Pillens? You need a band in a pinch? We're always ready, willing & able. How 'bout the Fill-in Pillens, or the Willin' Pillens? We're mellow. What about the Chillin' Pillens? Or just call us... the Availables. You don't like it? No? Hmmmm... Ah... the All Weather Reliables... Weather Permitting? Nah! Oooo Oooo... The Depend-ables (noooooo, not till we're much, much older). This is hard. Okay, what about "Meaty Okra?" That's a good 'un. It's funny and disarms critics. Whadda think? Well.... the Leinad Nellipinski Steering Committee Against Comically Deprecating Band Names (LNSCACDBN) voted it down. And besides that...the name's already taken. I cain't bleeve it. Just like "Wit Happens." I swear I thought that up all by myself too. --But so did somebody else. Ain't nothing new under the sun... That may well be, but I snagged the domain names 3rdbornlefties AND thirdbornlefties, so there you have it, Sharon & Dan Pillen aka Third Born Lefties... unique, clever, descriptive... maybe not so easy to remember...
